To get things started, hello I'm Mark and I'm the Community Manager for the Marie Curie Community. I'm here to help make sure the community is a safe and welcoming place for people to get the help and information they need.

I've been a Community Manager for about eight years running online gaming communities and then working for two major internet companies, so I've got a bit of experience with forums and the like. I'm new to Marie Curie Cancer Care and I'm very enthusiastic about bringing them into the world of online communities.

Hi Mark. I'm a member of the Marie Curie Expert Voices Group, and I'd just like to say how pleased I am that the MC Community has been set up. All last year, while my husband was desperately ill, I would have really appreciated a forum where I could find relevant factual information and support 24/7. I'm sure it will be very useful to people who otherwise may feel alone, caring for a terminally ill loved one. The real message , I guess, is that you do not need to feel alone.......

I'm Debbie and I'm also a member of the Expert Voices Group. Like Hilary, I would have found an online chat forum so helpful when my husband was terminally ill...especially in the middle of the night when it seems as though the whole world is asleep.

It will be great when the forum is completely up and running and nobody needs to feel alone or isolated, whatever the time of day or night.
