    Hi not used anything like this before. Just decided to give it ago as my mum passed away last week and am really struggling. I was living with my mum and looked after her.. I started uni in sept doing a masters as mum was nearly 5 years clear from her breast cancer. But unfortunately in October was told it had come back and spread to her lungs and brain. She passed away last week.. if am honest I don’t really know how to explain how I feel! Other than I can’t believe it and I find myself waiting for her to come home and then on the other hand it hits me that she’s gone. Just any advice would be appreciated so much. x

    I am sorry to read about the recent death of your mum. It is really normal and natural to have a wide range of emotions, and to swing between them as you are doing. There is no right or wrong way to grieve and it is a very individual experience.


    Writing things down may be a helpful way for you to express how you are feeling, and hopefully others on the community will be able to share tips on how they coped. 


    The support Line can offer you emotional and bereavement support if you feel this would be helpful please just reach out and get in touch.


    Be kind to yourself and listen to what your body and emotions need.

    Hey Butterfly,


    I am sorry to hear about your mum. 

    I lost my mum 11 years ago and I still feel she is still a big part of my life despite her being gone.

    I can promise you it does get easier.
