Hello Keith,
Thank you for getting back in touch with us.
We’re sorry to read that this last week as been increasingly difficult for you, and it’s understandable that you miss your wife so much.
When you say you ‘don’t think you can’ and it’s ‘not worth carry on’, please can we ask if you’re having thoughts to end your life?
As we’ve shared with you before, if you are feeling unable to keep yourself safe, please know that it is ok to seek immediate help. If you’re in the UK, you can do this by:
- going to any hospital A&E department (sometimes known as the emergency department)
- call 999 and ask for an ambulance if you can't get to A&E
- ask someone else to contact 999 for you or take you to A&E immediately
If you need some support right now, but don't want to go to A&E, here are some other options for you to try:
- contact the Samaritans on freephone 116 123, they're open 24 hours and are there to listen
- contact your GP for an emergency appointment or the out of hours team
If you feel unable to reach out to your GP for support, we may be able to help you with this. You can email your full name, date of birth, address and surgery details to support@mariecurie.org.uk . Please do not share this information on the Online Community.
If you feel able to, you’re also more than welcome to give us a call on our Support Line (0800 090 2309) where you can talk to us about how you’re feeling and what’s happening for you at the moment.
Take good care Keith,
Marie Curie Online Community Team
