Hi, I've just joined this community. Thank you. My Mum is caring for my Dad who is at the end of life stage. He is at home and it's at the stage where the nursing care needed is more than Mum can give.
Mum heard about Hospice at Home and called the Marie Curie helpline to ask about it but the enquiry was passed along and became confused so she didn't manage to get any information about it.
She has talked to one of the Community Nurses who comes in (they advise medication but are not hands on) and has been told that Hospice at Home care through Marie Curie is a pilot scheme and not available in her area.
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction so I could double check this and find out more please?
She has had a Marie Curie nurse come in to sit with Dad a couple of times but this has just been respite care while she attends her own medical appointments.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give.
