Hi, I think I am going mad, my partner told me she had been diganosed with Terminal Lung cancer, 18 months ago but “due to depression” dose not want me to come to any of her appointments.. Iv never seen any Drs letters Never seen any medication.. How do I know if my partner is Terminaly ill!?

We’re sorry to read about the situation that yourself and your partner are experiencing.

While some people may choose to attend medical appointments alone. This decision can be difficult for those who would prefer to attend appointments with their loved one as a means of support to that person. Have you tried to talk to each other about how you’re both feeling?

Our Support Line is here to offer information and emotional support to anyone affected by a terminal illness and if you or your partner would like to talk about anything, you can reach us on Freephone 0800 090 2309.

We also have a new service on our Support Line where you can discuss any medical related questions with one of our Information and Support Nurses. While they are unable to offer medical advice, they can provide clinical information and support. Our nurses are available between the hours of 10am and 4pm Monday to Friday and if you feel this would be helpful you can access this service by calling our general Support Line number that I have shared above.

We have talked & talked, we just go round in circles she said I don’t believe her (that she’s ill) and that I don’t trust her.. which just leaves me feeling confused (which is why I wrote in here) I’m asking wether someone could have terminal cancer for 18 months and never have any communication from a dr or nurse or not need any tablets???

While our nurses cannot advise and wouldn’t have access to medical records, they can provide clinical information and support. Please feel free to get in touch with us if you feel it would be beneficial to talk things through with a nurse.
