Hi just joined this site.  I care for my husband who is now on palliative care.  He is still very active most days apart from the tiredness he carries on and we go out for lunch just to get him out of the house.  He has been diagnosed for two years now.  He had a massive operation in November 2017 them chemo. Had a scan and discovered it had spread to lungs, stomach and the remaining lymph gland.  Still having further chemo but we plod on.  His positivity is unbelievably strong and keeps me going.  Anyway just wanted to say Hi, sorry for babbling on.

    Hello Santel,

Welcome to our online community. Thank you for taking the time to share your situation with us and others and to say hello - we would like to ‘digitally’ respond with a kind hello back to you.

We’re aware that caring for a loved one can be both rewarding and challenging. It sounds as though your husband’s positivity is your strength that keeps you going. We’re pleased to see that you’re reaching out on here to connect with others that may be in a similar situation, we often hear how helpful this can be.

Taking the first step to reach out and share about your personal situation can be a little daunting, we really hope that others will share with you their own experiences and offer their support to you too.

Here on the Support Line we can provide practical information and emotional support to anyone affected by a terminal illness. If you or your husband ever need to talk, or have any questions about anything, you can reach us on Freephone 0800 090 2309.

    Take care,

    Sam – Support Line Team
