Having spoken to many people recently about this upcoming Father’s Day, here on the Support Line, we realise that special days like this one can bring about a range of emotions. It can be difficult to know what you need at this time and what works for you; if you want to find out about some methods that have helped others, Marie Curie has published a blog with ‘top tips to cope with grief this Father’s Day’. You can access this here: https://bit.ly/2X78XgB .
Some people also find it beneficial to talk about how they are feeling. If at any point in the lead up to Father’s Day, on the day or any time thereafter you need a listening ear, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with ourselves on the Support Line on Freephone 0800 090 2309. We are open this Father’s Day, 16th June, between 10 a.m. – 4 p.m, as well as our normal opening hours. Alternatively, please feel free to share as much or as little of your experience and how you are feeling as you want to here on the Community. If anybody has any special quotes or pictures that they would like to share with others that have been a source of comfort for them, please feel free to do so.
I have attached some examples of pictures that can be reminders to be kind and look after yourself when things are difficult. They were ideas from Sandra, who cares for her mum, and were beautifully illustrated by helenetheillustrator.
