Hi Pearsons66
I am sorry to read about your wife's diagnosis and all that you are experiencing. It is very normal and natural for you to feel that you are on a roller coaster of emotions.
Many people tell us that talking can help and you can use the forum as a safe space to express how you are feeling. I am hoping that others reading this with share with you any tips they have on managing or coping.

So sorry to hear this - my mum has just been diagnosed with cancer completely out of the blue - she just retired 6 months ago. I don't know what to say that can help - other than maybe knowing you're not alone - its just awful and I know I'm facing the most difficult times ahead. But as I said to my mum the day after she got her diagnosis I think she'll be with me more in a way when she's gone as I know I'll think about her with every decision I make, every time I celebrate something good - and when things go wrong. She'll live on in me - and I'm sure your wife will do so in you too. wishing you all the best, Rachel

Hi Rachel, thank
you for taking the time to share your own experience following your mum’s
diagnosis and for your kind words of support. You are very welcome here on the
Marie Curie community.
It can feel emotional
and difficult, knowing someone important to you will die and that challenging days
are ahead. It is also normal to have a range of feelings too and find some days
harder than others. For lots of people their loved ones live on through them, as you said, and always hold an important place in their hearts. It sounds like your mum
will always be very close to you whatever happens in the future.
As well as
our Online Community, the Support Line team are here to help Rachel. If you have
practical questions or need a listening ear then you can speak with us. We are available
on Freephone 0800 090 2309 and through webchat at www.mariecurie.org.uk
Take care,
David -
