Hi just bee diagnosed with terminal cancer could be months or few years. My partner and children, although grown up, youngest 23, are very upset. Wondered if anyone could provide me with some ideas of how to get through this. Is there any family bereavement sessions available anywhere?

    Hi Flick,

We’re sorry to read that you have just been diagnosed with terminal cancer. It’s understandable that you are all very upset by this news.

We hope other people on our Online Community will see your post and respond with some ideas and what they’ve found helpful. Is there anything in particular you feel would be helpful for you and your family at the moment?

Have you spoken to your GP about what support may be available to you? They will be aware of what support is available in your local area and can make the appropriate referrals. We’re also aware that some hospices may also offer family bereavement sessions. If you would like to discuss this in more detail please don’t hesitate to get in touch with our Support Line on freephone 0800 090 2309, via online chat, email support@mariecurie.org.uk or book a call here and we’ll arrange for someone to call you.

    Take care,

    Marie Curie Online Community Team
