Hi Nadene
I am sorry to read about the death of your Step
Dad, and how you had less time with him than you were hoping for. The aim of
hospice is to provide the best quality of care and support to people living
with a terminal illness and to provide round –the – clock expert care in the
final stages of their illness. Your Mum is expressing concerns about the care/treatment
your step dad received, has she had the opportunity to speak to the staff at
the hospice about them? If she hasn’t done this it is ok to go back to them ask
for an appointment to discuss her concerns.
If your mum is still feels things are unresolved after
she has spoken with the hospice we have information that will explain her
rights to complain about the care and/or treatment he received. This is a link
to that information: https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/being-there/practical-legal-matters/complaint
If
you would like to talk about things in more detail please call our Free phone

I feel this is part of her grieving process. The hospice were fantastic from the cleaner to the doctors you couldn't ask for any better care. My mum is remembering things differently to me and I'm unsure how to answer her. We have both decided to take the counselling the hospice offers so I'm hoping that this will put her fears to ease.
