Sister Act is on at the moment. Miracle on 43rd street 1994. Indispensable morale maintenance.

I think there may be lots of people who enjoy them particularly at the difficult time. Nominations?

I have a recently diagnosed OGJA. Not Yogja - lovely Jogyjarkta in Indonesia. As Google suggested...

    Tonight's nomination the History Boys.

I'm a fan of Allan Bennet- I enjoyed his 90th birthday film.

Valedictory, observational and aware of mortality.

    Hello there Peter,

I truly believe that you are on to something important with 'movies'. I like how you call it 'indispensable morale maintenance'.  To have a medium which supports people at difficult times is of great value!  Out of the films you mention, I have seen 'Sister act' which I recall, nearly had me in tears of laughter. Any recent nominations? Recently watching a movie for the first time in ages, I was awed by 'I swear' - you may hear about it, it addresses the condition 'Tourette's syndrome' and is a moving watch indeed. It is amazing the power of film and multi media and how this can encourage thought, dialogue and new understanding.

    Best regards,

    Paulette
