Hi my mum has COPD and has had a lung removed due to cancer 5 years ago. She has just come out of hospital after being in for 2 weeks with pneumonia. She is now under the care of our local hospice. My husband 71 , had what they thought was a stroke in October and last Thursday we were given the news he has a stage 4 brain tumour. They are going to operate on 11th Feb to try to remove as much as they can. I am absolutely torn in two trying to look after both of them. I feel like my life is over as they are both so ill. I am devastated.

    Hi Juedrops64

I am very sorry to read about everything that you are experiencing in supporting your both your mum and your husband.  Trying to meet the needs of everybody must feel very overwhelming and leave you little time to focus on your own needs. Are you getting any help and support from anywhere at all currently? The Community can be a safe space for you to talk about how you are coping and the feelings you experiencing.

Hopefully community members reading your post will be able to give you some support and share coping tips with you. But in the meantime the Support Line team are here to offer any support we can, and we would encourage you to stay in touch with us and let us know how we can best support you.

    Best wishes

Brigette- Marie Curie Support Line Officer
