My dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer that has metastasized to his bones! Can’t seem to get an answer of where this is going and any prognosis??

    Hi Lous,

I am sorry to read about dad’s diagnosis. I need to make you aware that we are not medically trained here at the Support Line, but we can provide you with some information, signposting and a listening ear any time you need one.  There may be people on the Community that can share their personal experiences with you.

Have you been able to go with dad to any of his medical appointments? And if so have you had the opportunity to be able to ask questions to try and get the answers you are looking for? If not is there any possibility you could attend with dad and try this avenue?

Cancer Research UK has a nurse led helpline and you can contact them on 0808 800 4040. They would be able to talk to you in general terms about the type of cancer dad has and answer questions about how the future may look medically.

If you would like to talk about things in more detail please call our Freephone Support Line on 0800 090 2309, or get in touch with us through our web chat function here: https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support/marie-curie-support-line

    Best Wishes

    Brigette
