Hello all. My mum died in January this year. The last 3 or 4 weeks I have been suffering from ' brain fog' it's so debilitating. I'm just wondering if this is a typical grieving symptom that occurs not necessarily when thinking of your loved one. It's just there nearly all the time. Light and noise are awful. Can't think straight, extremely irritable, fatigued. Thanks so much.x

    Hi Kazzy

I am sorry to read about the recent death of your mum. Many people talk to us about very physical symptoms of their grief and about how all-encompassing these can be. It is common for grief to produce physical symptoms but this can be frightening if you are not sure what is causing the symptoms. If you are concerned it may be worth just checking in with your GP  or a healthcare professional, as they will be able to rule out any other causes, and to be able to provide you with the correct support.

Many people tell us that talking can help and hopefully other members of the community will be able to share their experiences with you. Please feel free to carry on posting and sharing your thoughts and feelings with us on the community or if you would prefer to talk then you can contact our support line either by webchat (https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support/marie-curie-support-line/using-online-chat) or on Freephone 0800 090 2309.

    Take care
