    Hi Blondie47,

I am sorry to read about your dad’s diagnosis. Learning that a loved one has a terminal diagnosis can be really emotional. Crying is often the body’s way of coping with stress and can help to reduce stress levels. You may find it hard to let the tears out or feel uncomfortable crying in front of others, but please be assured it is very normal. Many people tell is that it can help to talk about how they are feeling, and you are very welcome to contact the Support Line if you feel this would help you.

We also have lots of information both about practical things and coping with emotions on our website. You may find it helpful to look the information on our website: https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support.
