My adult son has terminal cancer and has become quite skeletal. He used to enjoy soaking in the bath before changing his morphing patches.  Bathing has now become so painful due to his bony condition, that he is no longer able to do this. Has anyone got any suggestions?

    Hi Rose 123,

I’m sorry to hear about your son’s illness. Have you or your son been able to speak to someone such as a district nurse about how painful bathing has become? You may find this section of our website on getting help from an occupational therapist useful - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/terminal-illness/care-needs/adapting-home-equipment .

Thank you Clare. the District nurses are attending to check on a possible bed sore that has developed so I will ask them. I thought I might try the bath pillow that sticks on the back of a bath and put one in the base of the bath as a cushioned seat too. Can but try!!  Have to be careful because my son resits anything that implies his health is failing!
