hope everyone is safe and well

Hi my name is Margaret, I don’t think I have posted on hear .

Just thought it would be nice to see how everyone is doing in these terrible time.

I lost my husband John 2yrs gone sept but I am finding it very hard to come to terms with all that is going on.

I miss him so much and just wish I could have a chat and a hug from him, and to hear him tellme everything will be alright.

If John was still with me he would have had to isolate him self due to his condtion.

And I know he would have hated that as he loved to go out when he could.

So with that thought i am greatful he isnt hear .

But they say things get easier but I am just feeling a bit lonley.

Sorry for the rant .

Hope everone is keeping safe and well.

Hello Margaret, thank you for your post.

I am very sorry to hear about the loss of your husband John. These are incredibly difficult times which can highlight other tough aspects of your life such as grief.

Thank you for reaching out on here, I am sad to hear that you are feeling lonely. Do you have any other family around you?

What are you doing to keep yourself busy? Have you taken up any new hobbies or interests?

Someone is always here to chat when you need :)

Take care Margaret

Hi Hannah . Sorry its taken a while to answer you but I have been a bit busy.

Thank you for your kind words. I do have family that live near me but I don’t like to worry them.

I think its just to do with these terrible times we are living with.

I am back volunteering at beamish which I love doing.

Many thanks

Hi Margaret

The pandemic has certainly resulted in many changes to the way we all interact and support each other, Often people share with us that worry about oversharing with their close family and friends. The community can provide you with a safe outlet to share as much or as little as you are comfortable tom and the Support Line team are always on hand with a listening ear too.

We do have some volunteer lead services which you may be interested in and you can find details of them here :Marie Curie Support Line | Helpline | Marie Curie. One offers bereavement support and the other is more general befriending service. Please let us know if you feel either would help.

Best wishes

Brigette - Support Line Officer

HI Brigette.

Thank you for your reply, I already volunteer for marie curie ant the hospice in Newcastle in the day unit .

But due to the pandemic i am unable to do this .

I may look into your befriending service as i have done something in the past .

Many thanks

Margaret

Thank you for your reply Margaret, I mentioned the volunteer services as form of support for yourself, wondering if it would benefit you to have somebody to talk to on a regular basis. However, if you are ever interested in volunteering for them to help others then please do let us know.

In the meantime, please continue to post here and share with us, hopefully others reading the site will join the conversation and share their stories, thoughts and experiences with you.

Best wishes

Brigette- Support Line Officer.
