Hi My name is Claire, I am 39. I, along with my sisters are caring for our mum who is at the end of life care with MS. It’s an awful illness. Seeing your loved one slowly disappear in front of your eyes. It’s not just the physical symptoms they experience but the personality change isn’t nice at all. We are receiving a lot of support from the nhs and Marie curie. My mum lives with me and so there are carers and nurses in and out our home every day. They give myself and my sisters a lifeline. Thank you to them all and a great big hug to anyone else in the same situation. We got this.
Welcome to the Marie Curie online community Claire. Thank you for your kind words about our colleagues who are supporting your mum, you and your sister’s. Seeing the changes in a loved one can be so difficult, and we hope you will also find the community a supportive space at this time.
Our Support Line is also here for you all with a listening ear - www.mariecurie.org.uk/help/support/marie-curie-support-line
